Research
In the last few years I have finished a number of successful research into women's experiences of hyperemesis gravidarum. You may recall my headline hitting paper on women's experiences of terminations for hyperemesis, or the ground breaking "Stop telling us to take Ginger for hyperemesis gravidarum" paper?
Well now I'm back at uni to improve and hone my researching skills. This year I'm doing an MSc in Clinical Research at Plymouth University and my project is a large scale survey of women's experiences of treatment for hyperemesis in hospitals and day units (click here to fill it in). In September I'm hoping to start a PhD and will be furthering the hyperemesis research agenda by setting research priorities in conjunction with sufferers, developing outcome measures and looking at the impact of HG on women and infant health among other things.
I currently self-fund my studies (which is blinking expensive I can tell you!) but I've set up a Go Fund Me account in the hope some of my loyal readers and their families might help... You are, after all, key stakeholders in the research development and outcomes and those of you with daughters will be helping to ensure that future care and treatment for hyperemesis gravidarum is the best it can be.
If you want to support my work there are a number of ways you can do it:
1. You can buy my books. If you already have a copy of them then you can donate copies which get sent out from the Pregnancy Sickness Support office to women in need.
2. You can donate via Go Fund Me.
3. You can donate to, or fundraise for, one of the hyperemesis charities to support their work
4. You can share my posts as far and wide as possible and ask family and friends to donate and support my work.
Thank you for any and all the support you give.
